Barratt has built and sold around 300,000 homes. We currently build and sell over 14,000 new homes each year on around 450 developments reaching from Aberdeen to Plymouth. For each development, we create individual solutions that meet customer expectations, support community aspirations and set a standard for others to follow.
Over 80% of our developments are on brownfield sites. From derelict munitions factories to out of date hospitals, we have found innovative ways to acquire and develop land. We are constantly exploring new ways to inject fresh thinking into our designs and capitalise on opportunities to develop high quality living spaces that are attractive, sustainable and affordable. For our Construction teams, the challenge is to deliver.
For example, our ‘iPad’ homes are a new concept in city centre living, using imaginative ideas to utilise space more effectively. In Chorley, we have built a unique 'Eco-village' that is far more than a housing development; it is an industry-leading project that opens up all sorts of questions about how we create, maintain and grow our quality of life. From spacious family homes in the suburbs to chic apartments in London’s Docklands, we constantly aim to surprise and inspire.
