Carly Hourihan - Employee Profile‘I joined Barratt in 2003. When I left school, I originally trained to be a beauty therapist. But as time went on, I realised that wasn’t for me and that I would be more suited to being part of a team in an office.

‘So I applied and got a role with the Sales Admin team at Barratt North London. I liked the thought of working for a big company. I imagined I’d be coming to work in a place with lots of prospects – and I haven’t been disappointed.

‘In my first three years here I had three promotions. Now, I’m just about to start a new role as Sales Systems Manager. We’re rolling out a new IT system across the organisation that will enable everyone involved in the sales process – from surveyors through to sales advisors – to see the same information. It’s going to make a huge difference to the way we work. And at the same time, it’s also a massive project for me to be involved in.

‘We’re aiming to implement the system in a different division each week, so it looks as though the roll-out will take around 12 months. With ongoing training and support for end users it means lots of travelling to meet different sales teams across the organisation. There’s plenty of variety too as I’ll be involved in any future developments of the system. It’s a challenge I’m really looking forward to.’
