The Graduate Development Programme

The foundations of Barratt Developments PLC were laid back in 1958, and our subsequent success has been built on a commitment to reach the highest standards of design, construction, quality and customer service. Half a century later, this commitment hasn’t changed. But because we’re also dedicated to innovation, a great deal has changed.

We’ve built and sold over 300,000 homes, but our outstanding feature isn’t necessarily our size or our stature, it’s our flair for lateral thinking.

This is the reason why we believe that graduates from all different disciplines and backgrounds can make such an impact here. We want to be a champion of new talent; a business renowned for bringing fresh ideas and people into an industry that is changing radically.

The work that we do, the approach we take, means that our graduates need to be naturally adaptable; they are our ideas people, our negotiators, influencers, relationship managers, commercial thinkers and customer-oriented achievers. In short, our new graduates will be our new business leaders.

Whilst we won’t be opening the application process at this stage, we’re looking for talented individuals nationwide who hold (or are expected to hold) a minimum of a 2:1 degree or above to register their interest and upload their CV.

Commencing in September each year, this is a two-year programme. In year one, you will rotate around Land, Technical, Commercial, Construction, Sales and Finance. So you’ll gain exposure to every part of our business.

Alongside the rotational element of the programme, you will undertake a series of development modules in leadership, communication, project management, presentation and performance management.
